It wasn't the price.
Well - it was partly the price.
It was mostly the line.
Standing there watching mobile orders & food getting made while my latte sat waiting. Every morning. Like a ritual I hadn't agreed to.
I'm too impatient for that.
I knew I wanted out.
I also knew I wasn't going Keurig.
Nothing against it - but I make lattes. Real ones. With actual steamed milk.
So I did some research and landed on the Nespresso Creatista by Breville.
That was eight years ago.
Same machine. Still on my counter every morning.
Here's what changed.
I wake up, walk to the kitchen, and have a better latte than anything I was getting at a coffee shop - in about four minutes. No line. No waiting. No $7 transaction before I've said a word to another human being.
Convenient espresso pods making real crema, the thing that makes a latte taste like a latte and not just hot coffee with milk in it.
It's not cheap upfront. Around $600 depending on where you find it.
But eight years of coffee shops every morning versus eight years of making your own?
The math isn't close.
Note - this machine has been replaced with the newer model available in limited quantities. Nespresso Creatista Plus by Breville
The morning ritual matters.
Not in a wellness influencer way.
Just - how you start the day sets the tone for everything that follows. A good espresso latte, made well, in your own kitchen, on your schedule?
That's a small thing that isn't small at all.
I still go to my local coffee occasionally.
But now it's a choice. Not a habit.
That's the difference.
